5 Tips for Chimpanzee Trekking in Uganda
Observe the Rules
Respect the guidelines for chimpanzee trekking. Stay at least 8 meters (26 feet) away from them and avoid eating or drinking near them to prevent disease transmission. Follow your guide’s instructions for a safe and enjoyable experience.
Pack Smart
Wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants, sturdy waterproof boots, and a hat to protect against scratches, insect bites, and sun exposure. Bring a light rain jacket in case of changing weather conditions.
Bring Binoculars and Cameras
Enhance your experience by bringing binoculars to better observe these amazing creatures. Don’t forget your camera to capture memorable encounters. Remember to turn off the flash to avoid startling the animals.
Stay Quiet and Move Slowly
Keep your voice down to avoid disturbing the chimpanzees. Move slowly and calmly to prevent them from being frightened.
